Permanent Jewellery FAQs

What is permanent jewellery?

Permanent jewellery is custom-fitted, clasp-free jewellery (usually a bracelet, anklet, or necklace) that is welded together directly on your body, creating a seamless and long-lasting piece.

Does it hurt?

Not at all. The welding process is quick and painless. The spark never touches your skin, and the procedure is completely safe when performed by a trained professional.

How long does it last?

With proper care, permanent jewellery can last for years. However, it's called "permanent" because there's no clasp—not because it can never be removed.

Can I remove it if I need to?

Yes. You can simply cut the chain with scissors or wire cutters if needed. Occasionally people remove it for medical procedures or certain activities and have it re-welded later. If you live local to Nottingham, we can do this for you in-store.

What if it breaks?

If your jewellery breaks due to a weak link Temprell will re-weld your jewellery FOC, if within 1 year of purchase.

What materials are used?

Permanent jewellery is made from high-quality, tarnish-resistant materials like:

- 14ct Rolled-gold

- Sterling silver

- 9ct and 18ct gold

These materials are safe for everyday wear, even in water.

Can I wear it through airport security?

Yes. Permanent jewellery is delicate and non-intrusive, so you won't need to remove it for airport screenings.

Is it safe for children?

Yes. We offer permanent jewellery for children with parental consent.

Can I get it wet?

Yes. Our permanent jewellery is waterproof. However, to keep it looking its best, minimize exposure to harsh chemicals, lotions, and saltwater.

Is it really permanent?

It’s as permanent as you want it to be. It stays on until you choose to remove it or if it accidentally breaks.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on the material and style but start from £30.00 (charm) and £65 (bracelet)

Do you offer group bookings or events?

Yes, we offer private parties, bridal showers, hen do’s, or pop-up events. To ensure a smooth appointment we require a deposit and chosen styles selected ahead of the booking date.

What is rolled gold?

Rolled gold (also known as gold filled) is made by bonding a thick layer of real gold to a base metal (usually brass) using heat and pressure. The gold layer is mechanically bonded, not just dipped like in gold plating.

How long does it take to weld?

Each welded bracelet takes approximately 15mins depending on the chain style and add-ons.

Do you re-weld chains not bought from Temprell?

Yes! Our charge for this service is £20.00.

Can I add a charm or connector to an existing bracelet at a later date?

Sure, you can add a meaningful piece to your bracelet at any time.
